George and Amal Clooney are going to buy a superb property in Brignoles, in the Var, reports France Bleu Provence. This purchase, confirmed to France Bleu by the mayor of the town, should take place "before May 10". The American actor and the Lebanese-British lawyer will therefore become owners of the Canadel estate, an 18th century Provencal country house, estimated at more than nine million euros in 2013.
Now owned by an Australian couple, the estate extends over 172 hectares of land and includes "a Provençal country house of 900 m², on three floors, but also a caretaker's house, a swimming pool, a lake, French gardens, a tennis court and a petanque court", details France Bleu.
The site also includes "several hundred olive trees and a 10-hectare vineyard". According to the mayor of Brignoles, Didier Brémond, "George Clooney came above all to seek tranquility and not necessarily a large wine estate. He bought this property to come and rest".
